A ninety minute Historical and Anecdotal tour of Wexford’s past from its earliest beginnings, Vikings, Normans, Cromwell, 1798 and its Maritime History to the International Opera festival of the present day.
Daily Tour of Selskar Abbey
( This tour is guided by members of Wexford Lions Club, also suspended because of Covid 19)
Monday – Saturday, 3 pm from An Tobar, Westgate.
A Norman Abbey founded c1190 for the Augustinian Order in the Medieval Town of Wexford, the first town to be occupied by the Normans in 1169. Among the many interesting graves is that Dorcas Catherine McGee , the mother of one of the founding fathers of Canada
